    Manouri (a semi-soft fresh white Greek cheese) dipped in sesame seeds and lightly sautéed to a beautiful golden brown color. Topped off with a delicious Greek sweet spoon dessert made with Sour Cherries.

manouri cheese 1⅓ lb.
sesame seeds 1 cup
eggs 2
greek extra virgin olive oil ¼ cup
vissino (sour cherries) ½ cup sweet spoon dessert
How to cook

  • In a bowl, with a fork beat the eggs.
  • In another bowl, pour the sesame seeds.
  • Cut the Manouri cheese in 3 equal portions (round).  Approximately ¼ - 1/3 inch thickness.
  • Dip each cheese portion in the egg mixture making sure to coat all sides.  Then dip in the sesame seeds coating the entire cheese.
  • In a small sauté pan, on a medium–high heat, add the olive oil.  Once hot, carefully add the cheese and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
  • Place on a serving dish and drizzle 2 tablespoons of Vissino on the top.  Serve hot.
  • Repeat the remaining portions.
